Slice of Lime Developer Teaches at BDA
Have you been wondering what makes a dynamic website tick? Have you been interested in learning more about producing dynamic content, writing code in a scripting language, or interacting with a database?
Well you’re in luck because one of Slice of Lime’s web developers, Richard Jones, will be giving just such a class at Boulder Digital Arts! It’s designed to introduce dynamic web technologies to those who may know what it is, but have never actually worked with it. Through this course you will gain a foundational understanding of scripting languages and databases in general. You’ll also learn some fundamental programming concepts and techniques which will help you better communicate with developers. With PHP and MySQL you’ll learn to write a basic blogging application in which you’ll see just how information is written to and retrieved from a database, and then displayed on the page. After this course you’ll have a more in depth understanding of dynamic web content, and a foundation upon which to expand your knowledge and skills.
As the instructor, Richard brings not only his 13 months of experience at Slice of Lime, but also his 6 years of web development and college instruction. He will work to ensure that you gain a clear, solid understanding of the subjects we’ll be covering. So take a look at the course description and sign up, as seats will fill fast!
Looking forward to seeing you there!
